ABOUT US
Cooks Hill Preschool is a community based early childhood education and care service that is
committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive space for children to play, explore and
learn.
We have 20 Junior children (aged 3 to 4 years) attend Cooks Hill Preschool on Mondays &
Tuesdays, whilst the 20 Seniors (aged 4 to 5 years) attend Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This
two year program fosters a strong sense of belonging, and enables a smooth transition from early
childhood to primary school to occur.
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and extends on the children’s
current interests and experiences. This is made possible through strong partnerships and
communication with families. Our beautiful garden, pets and frog habitat encourages children to
appreciate and show respect for the environment.
OUR VISION FOR RECONCILIATION
Our vision for Reconciliation at Cooks Hill Preschool is to promote values of awareness, acknowledgement and respect for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our aim is to contribute towards a socially just, inclusive and equitable Australia.
As we embark on our Reconciliation journey, our Educators have made a commitment to further their own knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements. Through collaboration with families and local community we will explore how we can respectfully embed Reconciliation within out preschool program and environment.
